Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned
~ Hebrews 6v7-8
I guess I’ve been pretty thirsty land, so I need to produce a crop useful for those in my church. ie: participate and help out.
Isn’t it funny how when we say to God we’ll “do anything and go anywhere” we kinda mean more, “we’ll head off on a missionary journey for you”. Because when God turns round and asks us to do something very small such as “go out of your way to do this” or “act with love towards that person who hurt you” or “get up ten minutes early and pray” it’s very very hard. It somehow seems that it would be easier to go off and do some great thing, than stay right where we are and do so many small things. But in the end it’s the small things that shape our character and make us more or less Christlike.
