Realness and Reality

So i was pondering….

Feelings are real, but they’re not reality. Something can be real without it being true. I mean like, you can feel sad but that doesn’t mean the world is a bad place; similarily, you can feel good but that doesn’t mean the world is a good place. What you feel is real, but it isn’t necessarily reality.

This is especially true when it comes to love. People feel ‘in love’ and stuff, and they try and build a relationship just on that, but whilst that feeling is real it doesn’t mean it’s reality. You may feel attracted to someone but that doesn’t mean you love them. Similarily, you may not feel fuzzy feelings towards someone all the time, but you love them because that’s a decision you’ve made – to love them no matter what you feel.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

Feelings are real but they’re not reality, and love is not a feeling.
