The more I think about it, something like evolution makes more sense from a religious perspective. God uses the universe he’s made to progress the universe he’s made. Sometimes there’s a direct intervention, a supernatural event, but comparatively how many times is it that God seamlessly works events together to do something as opposed to these obvious things?
And that makes more sense; if you created everything then you know how everything works. God is often described as a potter, and potters take a lump of clay and shape it and work it into what they want carefully and precisely using mostly just the clay they started with.
